QantasLink said its entire Bombardier Q400 fleet was back in service, following required inspections of the airline’s seven Q400 aircraft in accordance with an Airworthiness Directive issued by Transport Canada and CASA.

SYDNEY – Qantas Group General Manager Regional Airlines Narendra Kumar said the Q400s were returned to normal scheduled services by 6.00am today.

“There are no safety issues with any of these aircraft,” he said. “All aircraft have been thoroughly inspected and any issues have been rectified in line with the manufacturer’s requirements.” Mr Kumar said the airline had done everything possible to minimise disruptions to passengers.

“QantasLink was able to maintain normal operations for over 95 per cent of its scheduled services yesterday,” he said. “Despite unavoidable delays, the vast majority of passengers on affected flights were accommodated on other services.” QantasLink’s Q400 aircraft operate select services on the airline’s regional network in Queensland and between Sydney and Canberra. QantasLink currently operates around 2,000 flights each week, serving 50 metropolitan and regional destinations throughout Australia with a fleet of 47 aircraft.
