Midwest Airlines Named Best Regional Airline North America in 2007 World Airline Awards

SkyTrax, an air transport research and advisory company based in London, has named Midwest Airlines (Amex: MEH) Best Regional Airline North America in its 2007 World Airline Awards.(

MILWAUKEE, — The awards are based on results from the company’s World Airline Survey, conducted between August 2006 and June 2007. The survey measures 35 different aspects of passenger satisfaction for an airline’s product and service. More than 14 million responses worldwide were tabulated.

The World’s Best Airlines Awards regional category refers to domestic or international flights within a specific region of the world. A complete list of award-winning airlines in the category includes:

    Midwest Airlines - North America
    South African Airways - Africa
    Bangkok Airways - Asia
    Qantas - Australasia
    Air Dolomiti - Europe
    Emirates - Middle East
    LAN - South America
    Copa Airlines - Central America
    Asiana - Northern Asia
    Jet Airways - India/Central Asia
    Bangkok Airways - Southeast Asia

Only one other U.S. airline was recognized with an award — JetBlue for Best Low-cost Airline North America.
