The Latvian national airline Air Baltic has cancelled flights originally scheduled to depart Riga until 11:30 on April 19 due to an ash cloud from a volcanic eruption in Iceland

Riga – airBaltic warns passengers that flight cancellations may extend after this time, and expects to give the next update 11:00 Riga time. airBaltic Riga-bound flights from airports in Europe, Scandinavia, Middle East and the CIS are cancelled. Air Baltic will take every opportunity to assist customers in airports affected by the ash cloud. 

Air Baltic invites passengers to check departure and arrival status on airBaltic.com. Passengers who booked travel on one of the cancelled flights can choose any of the next available flight at no extra charge (if the flight is postponed to a date until May 31, 2010) or apply for a full refund of unused flight(s) tickets at any Air Baltic Ticket office, travel agency where original tickets were issued, by calling or sending an e-mail to Air Baltic reservation centre.  

If your trip has lost purpose due to delay, and you do not require immediate change of flight to any nearest available flight, we kindly ask to contact Air qBaltic for free-of-charge rebooking any time later, so that our staff can assist passengers in urgent need.
